Help us reach our goal of $240,000
Hilliard is growing rapidly and the Hilliard Food Pantry has seen a dramatic increase in demand for services. Help us continue to meet the needs of our community by contributing to the SOME Campaign, So Others May Eat. With your support, we could grow our services with a goal of reaching 20% more eligible clients annually.
SOME will allow the Hilliard Food Pantry to expand services and increase space to help clients become more self-sufficient families. Some of our future service plans include:
- Increase the number of allowable pantry visits to twice a month
- Nutrition education and cooking classes
- Benefit assistance
- Tax preparation services
- Workforce development
Why are we moving?
The city has leased space to us since the beginning of the pantry. Although a much larger space than the Old Jail, our Franklin Street location cannot support our expanding services. Additionally, the lease expires in September 2019 and cannot be renewed necessitating a move to a larger space.

What will the capital be used for?
We are partnering with Life Community Church who has offered our organization 4,000 square feet of available space that will provide a permanent home for the pantry. The space will require interior tenant build out and development of expanded parking. Office space, increased shelving as well as bathrooms will be added. There is also a need to purchase new equipment which will include a walk-in freezer and refrigerator that will cut down on energy use.

About Our Growth
For over 55 years, the HFP has served the Hilliard area as a small, efficient operation helping those who find themselves with limited resources. Currently, we can only provide a 3-day supply of food every thirty days.
The pantry has quickly entered a dynamic phase of growth; new and returning clients, more volunteers, and more food. These factors combined make our space inadequate and our need more important.
In 2018, we logged over 4,000 services to hungry neighbors.
